Truth Collective : Anti-Oppression Work in Yoga Spaces

AlexBauermeisterYogaTherapy.jpg

What can we accomplish in the next year to turn yoga spaces into safer spaces?

Truth Collective is a group of yoga professionals working within their own spheres of influence to dismantle oppressive practices in yoga spaces. We will meet online the 1st Sunday of every month, for one year, from 4:30-6pm EST.

BIPOC joining this collective will not be asked to carry the responsibility of educating/appeasing white people or speaking for anyone but themselves. People who are white joining this collective will be expected to practice humility and rigorous self-responsibility.

This will be a space for metabolizing internalized oppression and oppressive practices, grief, confusion, anger and fierce love into transformational action. While the foundation for this work is internal reprogramming, Truth Collective is ultimately about translating internal shifts into outward interventions within systems of oppression, with a focus on yoga spaces/communities in the United States.
