Join Alex Bauermeister for an introductory training in the art of Trauma-Informed Yoga Teaching. Whether you're an experienced or aspiring yoga teacher, therapist, bodyworker or other healing professional, this training will equip you with foundational tools for bridging the mind-body-emotional connection that is essential for healing trauma. Through group yoga classes, demo's, partner exchanges, presentation and discussion, you'll learn the defining elements and benefits of trauma-informed yoga, and gather tools that you can immediately apply to your work and life.

COURSE CONTENT: Over the course of the training, we will:

  • Define trauma-informed yoga, understand its underlying intentions, values and purpose, and see it in action through group yoga classes and 1-on-1 sessions.

  • Learn cues and dialogue prompts to take clients beyond physical yoga (asana) instruction to facilitate mind-body-emotional connection, meditative awareness, and radical presence.

  • Refine posture guidance that helps clients sense and befriend their body, energy and nervous system, instead of fighting, dissociating and overriding.

  • Explore hands-on bodywork coupled with 1-on-1 dialogue to practice ongoing consent, trauma-responsiveness, and nervous system soothing.

  • Illuminate tools, concepts and ways of being that not only support personal healing, but also help shift oppressive systems and culture.
